Hardware Requirements
Please read the minimum and recommended hardware and operating system requirements below. For adequate performance to run the software, please follow at least the minimum hardware specifications. For optimal performance, please follow at least the recommended hardware specifications.
Note: Salon Iris software will run on any PC, laptop, or netbook that you like as long as it meets the requirements listed below.
Note: Salon Iris will run on a Mac computer if the Mac is running a Windows emulator or Windows Parallel program, such as Boot Camp or VMWare Fusion, and has a copy of Windows XP (SP3), Windows Vista, or Windows 7 installed. Salon Iris cannot run directly off of a Mac operating system.
Single Computer Hardware Requirements
The following hardware specifications are recommended if you are using Salon Iris on one computer in your business. Follow these specifications for the Solo, Standard, and Professional editions of Salon Iris. For adequate performance to run the software, please follow at least the minimum hardware specifications. For optimal performance, please follow at least the recommended hardware specifications.

The following hardware specifications are recommended if you are using Salon Iris on multiple computers in your business. Follow these specifications for the Multi-Computer edition of Salon Iris. For adequate performance to run the software, please follow at least the minimum hardware specifications. For optimal performance, please follow at least the recommended hardware specifications.
Salon Iris networking uses a true server/client relationship for maximum speed and efficiency. The server computer is a fully functioning computer from which you can take appointments, run payroll, look up clients, etc. You do not need a dedicated server computer or a very high end computer.
Your server computer will be the computer that runs SQL Server 2005 Express (or SQL Server, depending on the number of client computers), holds the database, and is able to make backups of your database. Because the server computer will perform the most work, it should be your best quality computer for optimal performance.

Multi-Location Hardware Requirements
The following hardware specifications are recommended if you are using Salon Iris in multiple locations. Follow these specifications for the Multi-Location edition of Salon Iris. For adequate performance to run the software, please follow at least the minimum hardware specifications. For optimal performance, please follow at least the recommended hardware specifications.
The Multi-Location edition allows computers at any location in the world to share information over the internet. To do this you will have multiple locations, each with their own server computer and client computers. All locations will be connected to the Internet, and using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) these locations will be able to communicate by sharing files and information.
At each location, the server computer is a fully functioning computer from which you can take appointments, run payroll, look up clients, etc. You do not need a dedicated server computer or a very high end computer.
